SINTEF's 2100 employees from more than 60 countries possess leading-edge expertise within health, information technology, marine activities, materials science, applied chemistry, petroleum, energy, technology management and building/construction. A typical applied research project is strictly oriented towards the contractor's needs and requirements. Our researchers have competence in problem definition/projects scoping, technology development, result processing/reporting as well as project management. We work together with our customers and wish to be of use to both small and large companies. SINTEF is a non-profit organization, and reinvests its earnings in scientific equipment and competence development. SINTEFs turnover in 2010 was around NOK 2.7 billion.
