Canadian/Norwegian Defence Industry Day 18. November 2026

18. november 2026
Ottawa, Canada
Påmeldingsfrist: 11. november 2026

Canada represents an increasingly important and promising market for the Norwegian defence industry. Major programmes such as the Type 212CD submarine, the Type 26 frigate programme, and Norway's Standardised Vessel Programme offer significant opportunities for industrial cooperation, technology transfer and integration into transatlantic supply chains. These programmes, combined with the complementary capabilities of Norwegian and Canadian defence industries, provide a strong foundation for expanding long-term industrial partnerships and strengthening bilateral defence cooperation.

As Arctic nations, NATO Allies and close strategic partners, Canada and Norway share many of the same security challenges and defence capability requirements. With both countries investing significantly in strengthening their armed forces, there are growing opportunities for closer defence-industrial cooperation, technology partnerships and integration of industrial supply chains.

The Norwegian Ministry of Defence will be represented by a delegation headed by the Deputy National Armaments Director, with planned participation from the Ministry of Defence, the Norwegian Defence Materiel Agency (NDMA) and the Norwegian Defence Research Establishment (FFI) (TBC). The delegation will contribute perspectives on Norway's defence priorities, capability requirements, procurement plans and opportunities for bilateral defence-industrial cooperation.

The seminar will bring together representatives from Canadian and Norwegian defence authorities and industry to explore these opportunities and facilitate new partnerships between companies in our two countries.

Program highlights

The seminar will offer:

  • Strategic Defence Outlook: Presentations by Canadian and Norwegian defence authorities on the evolving security environment, defence plans, capability priorities, major procurement programmes and defence-industrial strategies.
  • Defence Procurement – How to Do Business: Practical insights into procurement processes, industrial participation requirements and opportunities for Canadian companies in Norwegian defence programmes and supply chains.
  • Bilateral Defence-Industrial Cooperation: Perspectives on areas of common interest, including Arctic capabilities, maritime and undersea systems, surveillance, autonomous systems, space technologies and resilient defence supply chains.
  • Industry Perspectives – Operational Challenges and Industrial Solutions: Presentations from selected Canadian and Norwegian companies demonstrating how their technologies and capabilities can address shared operational requirements.
  • Dedicated B2B Meetings: Pre-arranged meetings between Canadian and Norwegian companies to explore potential partnerships, joint technology development, supply-chain opportunities and participation in future defence programmes.
